Unitech upgraded the Li-Ion battery of the PA96

Enhanced battery pack Todays technology is changing rapidly. The demand is high and the markets are filled with new technical innovations. As part of its value added development, Unitech is continuously investing in helpful tools for expanding their products.

Unitech upgraded the Li-Ion battery of the PA968 to a 4-pin battery. The extra pin has an enhanced feature called thermal control, which gives the battery a longer life time. The thermal control measures the temperature accurately when charging the battery. The battery charging process operates within a temperature range of 0-50°C and stops automatically when temperatures are beyond this range. This enhanced feature gives a better protection resulting in optimal quality.
 

Can this new battery be used in my current PA968?

Yes. It will work in both PA968 and PA968II. However, only in the new PA968II this new temperature function is available.

Will this new battery influence my operating times?

Yes, in cold environments it will positively influence your autonomy (Only valid for PA968II).

Can I continue using my existing battery chargers?

Yes. This new enhanced battery-pack is compatible with current battery chargers available.

Can I ‘mix and match’ this new battery in my terminal?

Yes. The terminal will detect (PA968II only) if the enhanced battery is inserted and act accordingly.
