StarIO SDK Enhancements

StarIO is an SDK (software development kit) which customers of Star Micronics POS printers and Visual Card units may use to obtain full control over their products. StarIO is available for both Windows and Linux and fully supports all standard interface types (serial, parallel, USB, TCP/IP) as well as providing easy access to low-level features such as real-time status and issuing a hardware reset.

StarIO has recently been updated (2008-09), now offering

• Support for new HSP7000 status information
• Updated documentation
• Updated examples for C/C++, Java, C# and Visual Basic 6
• Provide notification when a printer port can not be opened due to being open by another application.

StarIO Communication Library for Linux (20080829)

StarIO is a library which allows software developers easy access to all features of Star POS printers, including full status support, checked block printing, USB printer class, USB vendor class, TCP/IP, Serial and Parallel communication, hardware reset control and support for common languages including C and Java.

This release includes:

• support for new HSP7000 status features
• updated documentation and samples
• support for Ubuntu 8.04, Fedora 9, SuSE 10.3

The Updated StarIO Communication Library for Windows (Version 1.0.0.0)

StarIO was created as a high level programming tool to simplify the development and creation of POS software for Star POS printers.
