Star DP8340 Main Board Change

The DP8340 main board has been updated to a new version as a result of some of the components on the old board becoming obsolete. The new version uses FLASH ROM rather than the older EPROMs to control the printer which should be a great advantage to anyone who uses or supplies the printer in anything other than the default configuration.

The range now supports 40, 48 and 60 columns by simply setting a memory switch. A utility is available on the customer resource site to facilitate this.

Any custom firmware for the printer, whether containing other character sets or functionality, will need to be modified before it can be blown into the new board. Please contact the technical department and send your original EPROM dataas an attachment for the fastest possible turnaround.
