Korean Airlines chooses cost effective printers from Star

In order to profit from significantly improved cost savings Korean Air has recently integrated printers from leading printer manufacturer Star Micronics into its ticket issuing system. Given the phenomenal success of the new system the airline is soon planning to implement the system on a global scale.

Korean Air has chosen to team up with Star Micronics for the issuing of boarding tickets and baggage claim tags. The system uses the TSP700 thermal ticket printer - a printer that offers high speed output at 180mm per second, as well as performance longevity and versatility. A high quality, fast single station printer, the TSP700 provides the option for colour output and to print tickets using paper stock up to 0.15mm/150gsm.

For the issuing of baggage claim tags the airline has chosen Star Micronics low cost, high speed (180mm per second) thermal printer, the TSP1000.

A key feature of the TSP1000 is its unique ticket stacker. Accommodating up to 30 tickets, the printer has been developed to ultimately issue tickets of up to 0.15mm/150gsm in thickness. The TSP1000´s advanced features are complemented by Star Micronics´ minimum design specifications for "Drop-In & Print" paper loading and assured performance longevity. Even with a small footprint, the TSP1000 incorporates paper rolls of up to 180mm diameter making the printer ideal for high customer throughput.
