Notice of Discontinuation Star DP820 Print Heads

I, Simon Martin,  would like to formally confirm that Star Micronics Co. Ltd Japan plan to discontinue the DP820 Series of Print Heads effective from the 1st July 2008.

As most of you are aware we discontinued the DP820 series of mechanisms several years ago and the requirement for new print heads has steadily declined since that time.

Unfortunately it is becoming more difficult to manufacture these heads as the components are no longer freely available, and the tooling has come to the end of its life, so Star Micronics Co. Ltd. Japan has come to the difficult decision to stop the production on the 1st July 2008.

In order to finalise the last production quantities for these print heads, both 12 and 24 volt versions, Star EMEA needs to submit it last purchase requirements, based on the forward sales plan by the fourth working day of March 2008.

I would therefore ask you to contact any users you have of these DP820 Print Heads and then to submit a final forecast / order for their requirement which we can include in our plan at the start of March 2008.
