Special version of the Datalogic QuickScan Mobile - now available

Datalogic announce that a special version of the QuickScan® Mobile is now available. This new model can be connected directly to the auxiliary port of all Magellan® bi-optic scanners (8100, 8200, 8300, 8400, 8500 and 9500) without requiring an external power supply.

The combination of the QuickScan Mobile reader with the Magellan bi-optic scanners provides outstanding and unmatched value added capability for customers. The Magellan bi-optic scanner provides industry leading throughput and first pass read rates for fixed position scanning. Combined with the superior cordless capability of the QuickScan Mobile reader, cashiers can easily move around the check stand area to scan large items without being restrained by a cable. Working together, this solution provides optimal operational effectiveness at the POS. In fact, the operator can easily and efficiently check out any item at the counter or in the surrounding area regardless of its dimensions or weight.

The following new kits include the QuickScan Mobile reader in white with special software and a serial cable for the Magellan bi-optic scanner (CAB-362 SH3924 - p/n 90G001092) and are now available to support this application.

In addition, for products already installed, new software is available from Datalogic Technical Support (Contact ADC Nordic support team). This new software enables slow charging of the QuickScan Mobile reader with a maximum current draw of 500 mA. Maximum recharge time for a fully discharged battery is 6 hours. Existing QuickScan Mobile readers can be easily updated using Datalogic’s Aladdin software configuration tool.
