Datalogic Mobile announces KYMAN v5 new RFID model

Datalogic KYMAN version 5 product line further expands with the availability of a brand new model, featuring multiple data capture capabilities. In this configuration, KYMAN combines the standard laser reader with the possibility to read/write HF ISO tags.

Kyman Features and Benefits

• RFID module is fully integrated with laser internal to Kyman, no external modules or tethers are required
• Thanks to this new model’s combined data capture features, RFID and laser, it is possible to address mixed applications too, where barcode reading may be required to coexist as well

Among the strengths of the RFID technology:

• Read/write capability
• Possibility of HF tag integration inside products/objects
• Larger amount of data stored in comparison with linear barcodes
• RFID tags can be used in harsh environment where barcode labels can easily be damaged or become illegible.

Technical Specifications

Availability will be immediate (from June 16, 2008), with only a few units left from the first production lot, since it has been almost totally booked in advance. Please be advised that the normal lead time is 10 weeks, from sales order to delivery, since this is not a make to stock model.
