Itella Keeps Its Promise Thanks to Honeywell Mobile Computers

Itella delivery drivers started using portable data terminals as standard equipment over ten years ago. In the autumn of 2007, Itella (formerly Finland Post Corporation) decided to upgrade the system and to replace 1,000 old batch devices with the Honeywell Dolphin® 9500 mobile computers supplied by a Finnish reseller. The new devices have now been in use for a year, and enable real-time GPRS data transmission. This was one of the main reasons for upgrading the solution, in addition to enhanced reliability and technical characteristics. The operation itself continues as before, but data transmission, tracking deliveries and customer service have been improved.
