Intermec SR61 handheld wireless scanner

Intermec is pleased to announce that the new SR61 RoHS compliant rugged handheld wireless scanner is now shipping in three configurations. These are SR61 with linear imager (EV10), SR61 with area imager (EA11) and SR61 with standard range laser (EL20).
The SR61 allows companies to standardise on a single form factor and choose the scanning technology that best suits their application needs, from low-light environments to highly dense or difficult to read barcodes.

Product Overview

Intermec’s SR61 handheld cordless scanner incorporates the flexibility and rugged design of a handheld scanner with the seamless functionality of wireless communication. The SR61 features a personal area network (PAN) radio based on Bluetooth™ communication protocol, making scanning easier and safer with no costly cables to damage or become entangled. Users gain hassle-free mobility up to 30 metres (100 feet) from the host.
With multiple scan options, including linear, area and standard range laser, the SR61 allows users to configure the scanner to meet the specific needs of their environment, whether they include reading specific barcode symbologies, decoding poor quality or
damaged barcodes with ease or utilising image capture for proof of delivery and point of service applications. Several key features make the SR61 one of the most reliable hand held scanners in the market:

Easy configuration and personalisation

The SR61 is configured by Intermec’s EasySet™ software setup tool for easy configuration and personalisation. The user can quickly set security options, select beeper tones and volumes, good read and error read responses, and many other customisations.
Users are able to scan barcodes, generated from EasySet, to update the configuration settings of the scanner.

Interfaces with Intermec terminals and personal computers

With the ability to interface with Intermec computer products including the 700 Series, CN3, CK30, CK31, CK61, CV30 and CV60, the SR61 cordless scanner increases productivity while keeping costs down.
Users can connect to one Intermec host device enabling multiple people to scan items for inventory management, picking, shipping and receiving, cross docking, work-in-process, tool crib, and pallet tracking, all with ease.
Intermec supports interfacing the SR61 to standard PCs with a USB Bluetooth adapter or RS-232 Bluetooth adapter.

Industrial durability stands up to harsh environments

The SR61 is designed to withstand rigorous application environments surviving multiple drops to concrete, cold and hot temperatures, and sealed to withstand dirt and water. The SR61 delivers 10+ hours of use with a long lasting lithium ion battery that can be easily swapped ensuring minimal downtime.
There are two charging methods for the SR61 scanner – whole unit and external battery
only charging.

Accessories

Accessories for the SR61 include easily swappable batteries, a desktop charger and multi-bay chargers (2, 4 and 8 bay) that allow customers to charge more than one battery at a time, a belt holster, Bluetooth USB and Serial adapters.
