Differences and issues between the current Intermec CK61 devices and the new RoHS ones

Intermec is in the process of converting to RoHS compliant products according to Directive 2002/95/EC from the European Parliament. Intermec is actively working in a continous search of the safest components not only for the user but also for the environment, and fully committed to compliance with local regulations. As a result, the CK61 RoHS compliant handheld mobile computers are now available for ordering, with shipments planned to begin immediately.

This document is intended to highlight the specification variances and customer migration considerations when converting applications from the current product to the new RoHS compliant model. Also, in support of Intermec’s company wide initiative to assure RoHS compliance of our entire product line, this alert will highlight differences and issues between the current CK61 devices and the new RoHS ones.

More detailed information about the hardware changes is detailed below. This list is limited to those components that interface with customer applications. Lower level device component changes required to meet the legislative waste and lead-free initiatives, but determined to have no potential risk relative to customer application portability, are not listed.
