Datalogic Dragon Family Obsolescence

Strong demand for the existing Datalogic Dragon bar code scanner has resulted in an accelerated obsolescence for this product line. With the introduction of the new PowerScan 8000 bar code scanner family, incoming orders for the Dragon would be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Due to the limited stock of existing Dragon components, the last order date and last shipment date is amended as follows:

Last Order Date: 04/30/2008
Last Shipment Date: 06/30/2008
Last Service Date: 06/30/2013

Backwards compatibility of the new PowerScan 8300 scanners will minimize the impact of this accelerated obsolescence. The new PowerScan is:
• 100% mechanically compatible
• 100% electrically compatible
• 100% functionally compatible
• And it offers some additional features at the same price

Customers should be encouraged to convert any new orders to the PowerScan 8300. New and existing Dragon orders will be upgraded to an equivalent model of the new PowerScan 8300. We will make our best effort to support customers who absolutely need to purchase the Dragon product to complete an existing rollout. All existing orders that cannot be upgraded as well as the new orders entered on Dragon models from now until the end of April will be delivered at the end of June.

Customers should be encouraged to convert any new orders to the new PowerScan 8300. We will make our best effort to support customers who absolutely need to purchase the PowerScan product to complete an existing rollout.
