Enhanced features for the Honeywell 63X0 family

As of December 18, 2009 Honeywell announced the release of the latest revision of direct part mark firmware (revision 2.5) and set up tool software (revision 3.2.3) for our 63X0 family of direct part mark readers.


The new firmware will offer the following enhancements:
- Windows VISTA support (32 bits only)
• Set-up tool will automatically install USB Com for Vista when running on a personal computer (PC) with Vista installed
• When connected to PC in USB Keyboard Wedge mode, reader will automatically load the standard Microsoft Vista USB HID device driver
- PDF417 support

- Reading of 128 x 128 cell Data Matrix codes

- New data validation reporting
• Images, data, and comments are now possible
- Save reports in formats other than time stamp
• You can now save reports using the data string contained in the code
• Ability to add suffixes to the data string to create more than one file for the date being scanned

DPM prices have been updated, new scanners will be shipped with this new firmware and set-up tool. Firmware and set-up tool are not available from the Honeywell website at this time 20100514. The Non-FUP version of version 3.2.3 may be posted at a later date.
Upgrading older scanners is possible with a site upgrade license (one fee for all scanners per site).
