Datamax Discontinuation of the I-Class Present Sensor Only Option

Datamax plans to discontinue offering the I-Class Present Sensor Only option (78-2293-01, DPO78-2293-01), because the supplier that manufactures the lens in this assembly has obsoleted the part. Since the part has been in extremely low demand for many years, there are no plans to engineer a new version of the part.

However, while the Present Sensor Only option (which requires the label to be torn off after being printed and presented) is not being replaced, the existing Peel and Present assembly (78-2444-01, DPO78-2444-01) provides this label present capability in addition to the peel feature. Using the Peel and Present assembly allows the printer to print the label, peel it away from the backing, and then stop until the present sensor -sees- that the label has been completely removed before printing the next label.
