Datalogic´s Mobile Computers Now Compatible with Oracle

Datalogic is pleased to inform you that the Datalogic Jet™ PDA is now Oracle E-Business Suite certified and its range of .NET mobile computers is compatible with Oracle Database Lite 10g.

Datalogic, a member of the Oracle Mobile and RFID Community, has received certification for its Datalogic Jet™ professional PDAs for the Oracle E-Business Suite, the business applications of Oracle. The certification has been achieved in Datalogic’s research and development department by following the methodology proposed by Oracle. Therefore, Datalogic can now support, via terminal emulation, the ERP Suite from Oracle, and guarantee interoperability with the Warehouse Management System application of Oracle Applications.

With this certification the Datalogic Jet™ PDAs can operate freely and without difficulty in all applications of data capture, sales force and field force automation in the Oracle ERP Suite. This is only the first step – in fact Datalogic intends shortly to extend this certification to all of its mobile computers with .NET operating system, especially the new mobile computers that are soon to be launched.

Thanks to the availability of the Oracle Centre of Research in Warsaw on Pervasive Computing, Datalogic has also achieved compatibility for its entire range of .NET mobile computers with Oracle Database Lite 10g, a complete integrated solution to develop and use database applications in mobile environments. Oracle Database Lite 10g enables persistent access to critical information and applications without requiring continuous connectivity to back-end enterprise systems, to increase efficiency, productivity and responsiveness of mobile workforces, reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction.

With Oracle Database Lite 10g, Datalogic’s mobile computers have an even more secure and reliable technology architecture that can enhance performance and scalability to support thousands of simultaneous users. In addition, this solution from Oracle makes the mobile computers ready to synchronise data on a local database (on PDAs) with the central database (on the company server) and enables Oracle application components to be installed on the devices themselves.
