The New Gryphon™ 2D Reader from Datalogic

Datalogic extends its successful family of hand held readers with the new Gryphon™ 2D reader.

Datalogic has enlarged its winning family of Gryphon™ hand held readers with the new Gryphon™ D432, that enhances Datalogic’s offer for 2D scanning and image capture applications.

The new Gryphon™ omni-directional 2D reader is particularly designed for typical retail and office applications such as document handling, healthcare and point-of-sales, as well as some light industrial applications like shipping and receiving or work-in-progress.

This reader is based on the latest generation of Intel micro-controllers, and is a perfect combination of the best 2D-CMOS reading performance and the unmistakeable design and distinctive features of the Gryphon™.

The new 2D models can read all most common 1D and 2D codes as well as a complete set of postal codes and provide three different interfaces on a single model for full connectivity: USB, RS232 and Wedge emulation. Furthermore, the new architecture of the Gryphon™ D432 guarantees complete image management, with up to four acquisition options by modifying image contrast, image brightness, zoom resolution model provides top performance on high resolution codes. Like the rest of the Gryphon™ family, the 2D version features the Datalogic patented green spot for good read feedback. It has an operating voltage of 5V so that there is no need for an external power supply and it also has a five year warranty that reduces the total cost of ownership.

The Gryphon™ 2D reader shares various characteristics of the Lynx™ family of industrial 2D readers from Datalogic, such as the five-dot pointer for intuitive aiming at the image to be read, which can also be configured according to the specific application needs.

The VisualSetup™ software tool has been specially designed by Datalogic for its 2D readers and is easy to use, and improves installation and maintenance of the reader. It enables complete configuration of the reader and the decoded data and captured images can be displayed via USB or RS232 communication.
