This new device by Datalogic Mobile is the perfect choice for entry-level applications in retail environments, such as inventory, shelf replenishment, price management and others.

The special ergonomic and compact design of the Formula™ improves efficiency as it allows single-handed use with easy access to all the keyboard functions. This, along with its backlit display, make operation faster and easier, as well as reducing operator fatigue. Its small size also allows it to be put in the operator’s pocket, increasing mobility on the shop floor.

The new Formula™ combines the stable platform provided by previous Formula™ products with innovative features, such as USB on board, memory expandability with a SD card slot and a Bluetooth® option. The mature platform assures reliability and long-term investment protection, while the added features provide many connection possibilities and database management.

To make the solution complete, the Formula™ comes ready-to-use out of the box. A standard power supply is provided, along with adapters for specific country needs, and a mini-USB cable for initial set-up and data communication. Some customized software applications and tools are included on a CD as well. In addition, a pre-loaded application allows simple operations to be performed right away, such as reading codes, inputting data and transferring information through USB connection.

This compact, ergonomic and ready-to-use mobile computer has been tested for long-term use and reliability. It provides rugged construction to protect it from accidental drops and exposure to wet and dusty environments, while its fast and accurate scanning engine offers excellent performance. The Formula™ is truly a complete solution for all application needs, especially in light industrial and retail environments.

Formula Product Overview

Formula™ leads the small form factor mobile computing industry with an ergonomic form factor and rugged environmental specification. Designed primarily for retail applications, the Formula™ can be leveraged in any business to capture and communicate basic inventory or asset information.

The new Formula™ compliments the existing Formula line: Formula 732 Wizard, Formula 734 and Formula 725, through the use of the same proprietary operating system and microprocessor. Use of this stable platform assures long term investment protection through platform stability and portability of legacy Formula applications to a new device.

Based on the Memor™ mechanical design, the Formula™ improves associate efficiency through its ergonomic form factor. A compact light weight device at 206 g including standard battery, the Formula™ comfortably rides in a pocket. The device shape provides convenient single-handed operation with easy access to all keyboard functions.

The new Formula™ provides an industrial product tested for long term use and reliability. The terminal survives repeated drops (1.2m) to concrete. IP54 sealing resists damage due to exposure in wet or dusty environments. The Formula™ operating temperature range encompasses 0 to 50 °C (32 to 122 °F).
A laser barcode scanner makes the Formula™ a fast and reliable data capture device. Industrial connectors allow integration with the most used transmission data standards, USB and Serial (RS232). A power connector on the base of the terminal to directly recharge the battery. A Bluetooth® interface provides an additional option for wireless data transmission.

Supplied as an out-of-the-box solution, the Formula™ comes together with a battery (3.6V @ 1000mAh), universal power supply including USA, European, Australian, UK adapter and miniUSB cable.

The Formula™ comes together with a CD containing the software tools for developing applications (Software developer’s Toolkits for basic development and EasyGen Rapid application generator for enterprise development) and exchanging data with a host (SysTools). The CD also provides basic software Ready To use applications (Code Quantity, Inventory, Picking) to get the Formula™ up and running without any development effort.
