Miniaturization and excellent reading performance!

This is the simplest and most direct description of the new DS1500 industrial laser scanner. The combination of extremely compact dimensions and powerful high speed reading capabilities makes the scanner ideal for demanding OEM applications.

Product main features

DS1500 extreme miniaturization (40 x 30 x 22 mm) allows an easy integration into space constraints applications (typically in OEM equipment and automatic machinery).

The scanner operates at a speed up to 1200scans/s, extending the application range also to high speed document handling, paper inserting, label rewinding and packaging machines. This high scan rate applied in lower code translation speed applications allows a higher number of code scans increasing reading effectiveness (thus successfully addressing difficult reading conditions).

DS1500 installation and configuration is easy and simple thanks to compact size and to the new test operating mode with bar-graph. Test mode is activated by means of a pushbutton on the scanner outer case and the led bar-graph shows the real time read percentage. Therefore, an external PC connected to the scanner is not required to monitor the scanner performance. This feature increases the scanner ease of installation and re-positioning during product changeovers in automated machinery.

Availability of embedded ACB (Advanced Code Builder) reconstruction SW algorithm allows consistent decoding of damaged or mis-applied labels (resulting in high tilt angles).

The scanner motor can be switched ON and OFF via SW command. This feature is useful in very low throughput application or when the machine sits idle for long periods. A simple software command allows a prompt restoration of full operation when needed.

DS1500 features a SW selectable RS232/485 serial link. This versatile connectivity offers a double serial standard option while keeping to a minimum the number of scanner models.

To better address the typical industrial needs of OEM integration, the scanner offers an IP65 rugged industrial housing.
