B version available for Intermec EasyCoder PF and PM printers

Intermec EasyCoder electronic platform allow to improve new exiting functionalities in EasyCoder printers range, to improve the productivity and reduce the cost of ownership.

The changes in EasyCoder PM- and PF- series include

Part number change
All printers in the EasyCoder PF- and PM-series, i.e.

• EasyCoder PF2i
• EasyCoder PF4i
• EasyCoder PF4ci
• EasyCoder PM4i

will be updated from rev. A to rev. B.

All part numbers will changed accordingly. i.e. a printer with P/N PF4IA01000000021 will be replaced by P/N PF4IB01000000021.

Note: All orders for revision A will be converted to a revision B, during September dependent on which printer model and configuration the order is placed for.

Rev. B includes support for the Intermec Ready-to-WorkT (RTW) indicator, which is an important part of SmartSystemsT. SmartSystems support for the EasyCoder PF-, PM- and PX- series is planned for Q1, 2006.

EasyCoder PX4i and PX6i already feature the RTW indicator. Now the complete line of Intermec Performance EasyCoder PM-, PF- and PX-series printers feature RTW indicator.

The Keyboard
Printer Keyboard still includes three LED indicators. However the functionality for the revision "B" printers has changed slightly.

The functionality of the right hand LED ("Error") is now moved to the centre position, and is now called "Status". The "Status" indicator combines the functions of the "Ready/Data" and the "Error" indicators. It will now show green, green blink or red colors, as shown in the table above. At start-up it will show orange color. Any existing Fingerprint applications developed for a rev. A printer will be fully compatible with a rev. B printer.

The right hand LED, "Ready-to-Work", will show the printer`s status - solid blue when printer is "Ready-toWork" and blinking blue for an error which needs attention. Pressing the F5 (i-button) will give detailed information about the error.
