Intermec 741 and 751 hazardous environment certifications ATEX

The 741 and 751 ATEX (EMEA region) Zone 2, EEx nL IIC T6 approvals are already approved.

The introduction of hazardous environment certifications within the 700 Series now allows for cross-departmental standardization in both hazardous and non-hazardous environments. As extensions of Intermec’s standard product lines, a common hardware and software platform is provided to minimize application development and simplify device management, therefore minimizing your customer’s total cost of ownership (TCO)

As we continue to expand our rugged Open Hand Held System (OHHS) markets and explore opportunities within industries containing hazardous environments (i.e. chemical, oil refinery and pharmaceuticals) it is important that you understand the difference between consumer and protection explosion devices. By understanding the difference, you can provide customers with the most cost effective alternative.

An atmosphere, which could become explosive due to local and/or operational conditions, is called a potentially explosive atmosphere. It is only this kind of potentially explosive atmosphere which products falling under the directive 94/9/EC, mostly known in EMEA as ATEX.
