Applications
Improved Productivity
The barcode provides real time information and increased data accuracy. Stand-alone barcode systems are also available for faster data input. All targeting that manufactures should be able to make better decisions based on up-to-date accurate information on inventories and resources, or ensuring maximum data reliability and speed of input.
Goods Receiving
Requiring suppliers to barcode deliveries and components allows manufacturers to verify in real time that the right components have arrived against the right orders. Incorrect shipments can be rejected immediately upon receipt, and the MRP/ERP inventory status is always accurate.
Put Away
Mobile computers and wireless technology directly link the operator to the inventory control system. Put-away operations are verified by barcode reading of parts and location. The right inventory is placed in the right location.
Work Order Management
Pick components to work orders and know that the right parts, in the right quantities, are going to the right location for assembly.
Work in Process
Barcode readers placed along the production line keep track of work is in progress and at what stage of completion.
Finished goods inventory
Use a barcode label to identify a fully assembled product once it has been packaged. Within the barcode can be contained information such as serial number, production date and batch number. The barcode is used in conjunction with the inventory management system to provide the location of the finished goods inventory within the warehouse.
Shipping
Items picked from the warehouse for shipping are verified via the barcode label/reader to be the correct items in the correct quantities, resulting in accurate and complete shipments for customers.
